Wizard ball detailing

Hi folks, wanted to show u a bit on how i am detailing up the wizards ball portion of the staff:

 Here what i did was cut a hole in the bottom of the ball and pour in some resin i tinted red, and sloshed it around in side their till it got tacky and started to dry ( ty so much to my GF who sat there and rotated it for me).

After that i used hot glue and made a raised trail over certain sections of the ball.

 Here i started lightly airbrushing in black, covering the hot glue.

Just about completed, it is almost ready for my to wrap the dragon around it.
